Dark one could you go into more depth about the timing belt for me? If i have voltage at both the crank sensor and the cam sensor then the timing belt needs to be replaced? is that what you were trying to tell me............ I didn't understand missing teeth, on the actual timing belt or on the cam gears?

Timing belts are just like any other belt - they stretch over time. The ECU tracks the degree of sync between the cams and crank via the cam angle sensor and the crank angle sensor. More than some predetermined amount of variation, and it counts it as an entire timing belt "tooth" off. This usually indicates that the belt has stretched to the point that the hydralic auto-tensioner for it can no longer take up the slack, and it's flopping around as it goes over its various gears. When it flops enough, it'll skip a tooth on either a cam gear or a crank gear and mess up the mechanical timing of the motor.

Long story short - Has your timing belt ever been replaced? If no, how many miles on your car? cheduled maintenance for the timing belt is 60,000 miles and NO MORE!

sorry about the new post, thanks for the good info its time to change the timing belt, do i need a puller for it, and while i have the underdrive pulley off should i just go ahead and replace that with a lighter after market undrive pully?

if u have the extra money, a good one is like $200, plus my unorthodox one is so easy to take off and put on, way easier than the stock pulley
