very nice work my friend. i have a somewhat similar setup except its selective. its just a qtec 3 inch electronic cutout i welded in a few flanges and it replaces the stock cat location. with a flip of a button the exhaust dumps right off my 3 inch downpipe and out by the driver door, if i had a digi id have pics, but oh well

again though nice job :) how's it sound? LOUD ha? lol...

edit: i dont open mine until about 4000 because of the major low end backpressure loss, from 4-redline it really opens the exhaust up though. you feel the power loss down low dont you?

Looks nice, i just did the same thing about 2 months ago. Pretty similar setup only I put my glasspack towards the end then for a tip i used a 45 degree turndown sorta upside down so it comes out up and back if that makes any sense. Nice job though. what size pipe did you use and how loud is it, mine is loud but livable.

Very pimp. I'm looking to do something like this to Daisy come spring. I'll be doing a dump side like Turb, but with a manual cable set up. I don't plan on using it except at the strip and when some random ricer revs on me. I'll save the switch for the sign in the back window that reads, "WRONG DSM TO FUCK WITH." :thumbsup

just got home from work. The exhaust sound at idle and cruising down the highway is pretty good. Sounds meaty without the tin can sound of most exhausts. I used 2.5" manderal bent aluminized steel. Everything cost me about a 100.00 from jc whitney. I went with a 36" x 4" dia. glasspack muffler right after the cat. I noticed some gains, but a more solid power curve. I did this exhaust up in a welding class i had. I did some r&d drawings up on CAD to get me started and then had to tweek them a bit when i was welding up everything. I took out my stock exhaust and plasma cut the hangers and o2 sensor off. I welded them to the new exhaust so i could use the stock hooks. I plan on re-doing my cad drawings on monday and making them available to anyone who wants to use them. I will include diminsions, jc whitney part numbers and cost of each part. You don't have to follow the drawings but it will be a great start for anyone who wants to do this mod. oh by the way i passed the drive by emmissions and got a green light.

Do you still have the stock cat on there? Mine was way too loud with a high-flow cat and just one glasspack. A second muffler made it nice. Loud but nice. I'd have gone deaf with just one on there especially cause it comes out right next to my ear now.

Heh, yepp yepp.. :)

My 57 trim does a pretty good job of sounding like a ground based jet engine too :)
But at idle, the turbo chops up the cound waves a lot... my car has no cat, and no muffler... but you wouldnt know it at idle.

i did not get to update my CAD files today to give out to everyone. I was helping my neighbor pull his tranny out of his mx-6. So far the 36" long glasspack/muffler is doing a great job. I have put over 400 miles on my car in the last couple of days and love the sound more every time i drive. I have gotten a lot of compliments from my buddies (car nuts). Some had wished i put a crome tip on the end rather than cut and paint. So far no problems with the design or welds. Using the stock hangers has made the exhaust stay where it should. I hope to have the drawings done in the next day or 2.
