I know this question has been asked 1000 times but i dont want to spend 300+ on a vortech sfmu. What fuel pressure regulators will work on a 97 Eclipse GS 420a with a turbo. I want to run around 10lbs of boost, i am currently running 5lbs. I recently purchased an eclipse 420a with a turbo and the line coming off the fuel rail is just a hose with a bolt in it and a hose clamp around it. So its kind of real important that i get a fuel pressure regulator asap. I'm not sure if there was a fuel pressure regulator on at one time and he took it off or what. Which fuel pressure regulator have u 420a guys used in the past and had good results with besides the vortech sfmu?

$300.00+ for an SFMU???? where the hell you shoppin man, Gucci? hit up ebay, you can get a great used one for half that. don't short change yourself for a cheaper alternative, just bite the bullet and get something that has some tuneibility. you'll be better off in the end, and happier!

Can i just get the fmu? or do i need the sfmu? how much of a fuel increase would i want with boost? 12:1? 10:1? 8:1? 6:1? I plan on running around 10lbs of boost. Also where is the fuel pressure regulator on a 97 GS? I'm kind of a lil sketchy about that hose with a bolt in it and a hose clamp on it coming off of my fuel rail.The fmu replaces the fuel pressure regulator and just instead of staying at a constant fuel pressure all the time it just increases fuel when boosting right>??

Ok so i think the line coming off with a bolt in it is my vaccum line coming off of my fpr. So where is this vaccum line off of the fpr supposed to connect to? Right now it just has a bolt in it with a hose clamp.:shrug

Nope i was right the first time, there is no fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail what so ever, there is a hose coming off of the fuel rail and at the other end of it it has a bolt in it and a hose clamp to keep the bolt in. This is completely assinign i cant believe someone would do this. I dont even see a return line so i am probably going to have to run a new one. this is rediculous. Where exactly does the return line connect to. Originally it would come off of the fuel pressure regulator and go where?? To the fuel pump? to the gas tank?? where????

you have a 97, there wont be a return line on the fuel rail because the stock FPR isnt on there, in 95-96 the stock FPR is on the fuel rail...in 97-99 the stock FPR is back by the gastank, you can either mount the new regulator back there and run vac lines to the engine bay, or mount the regulator in the engine bay and run the fuel lines under the car...

and if you are still looking for one, let me know I'm gonna be parting out a few parts of my car.

if you want to increase the size of your injectors you'll have to get a fuel pressure regualtor or SFMU. Because the more boost you run the more fuel pressure you'll need or fuel anyway so eventually you'll be running some crazy ass fuel pressure. So to counter that you get bigger injectors and lower the fuel pressure so you don't have to run sich high pressure at higher boost.
