83104, Quick Qs about rebuild (removing old HG & ring gap)

So I got my head off
-How do you cover of the coolant passages when you scrape off the old HG or do you? I'm flushing the fluid out anyways so does it matter?

- I got a set of Topline rings for my stock pistons, but it didn't come with instructions. Should I just use the stock ring gap?

THanks

I'd recommend sending then head out to a machine shop. Have it hot tanked and decked, just in case, the block too. That would clean up a lot of the gasket resedue too.
