Anyone using a 12.5:1 set up, I would be interested to know what numbers you got on a compression test. After my engine was built we ran a compression test, only let the engine turn over three cranks and the gauge show 255 psi on all cylinders. We thought that the gauge was broken at first. I'm sure now that the engine is broke in and rings are seated properly that the numbers would be higher. Just curious what others have for numbers. Knowledge is power.

It also depends on the overlap of your cams. Your compression ratio will raise the numbers, but a cam may lower the numbers. It could be caused by that as well. Which cam are you running?

I'm using a crane 10 at the moment. I want to work out all the bugs before going to as bigger cam, crowler 3. or crane 16, 18's.

The 10's don't have that much overlap, though, but it could be enough to lower your static compression.

There was a set of crower 3's floating around the pits for $300, but I'm sure they're gone by now. The crower 3's are pretty evenly matched with the crane 18's. The only thing you'll need to worry about with the crower 3's is clearence. They have more lift than the crane 18's.
