82563, Odd EGT gauge question? Posted by techboy, Nov-08-04 05:36 AM
My the needle on my EGT gauge just recently started jiggling around. It worked perfectly fine before .. but now it's acting stupid. Anyone have this happen before and figure it out? I checked the wiring, everything seems to be well connected. I pulled the probe yesterday too and that seems to be fine. Hmmmm :shrug

Let me guess. Autometer gauge right.
Also do a search for egt gauge crazy (with the and not or logic) for similar stories.

Thanks for the link man ... very informative. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one whose had this problem before. And, yes, it's an autometer EGT :( Points for you for a good link.

I had the same problem with my autometer EGT. Everytime mine would read incorrectly I just kicked the roll of wiring(since they provide so much extra) under the dash and it would go back to the proper reading. Not sure what exactly the problem was, but kicking it always did the trick. Sorry I'm not much help, but I figured I'd post my experience. :P
