I open the package of clevite 77 main bearings to install them, and i notice that the notches are not the same as stock....im like WTF...i read the directions and read that they need to be RENOTCHED if my car is a 95?????? WHY!

How do I get these renotched?! Is this expensive?

This is the stupidest thing ever.

First of all, you can buy bearings that have the correct notches for the 95...or you can buy 2 sets of bearings for the later models.

Secondly, its not the bearings that get renotched - its the block. You can renotch the main journals to accept a bearing set for the later models.

It says on the bearing instructions that the bearings themselves CAN be renotched.

You are correct. Sorry!

I ordered another set of bearings from NAPA today. Should be here thursday. Then the block should be reassebled that night :).
