I've read probably about 25 posts where people say they're going to install a crank scraper, or they installed it and it works great.

I understand it's theoretical function, but I was curious if anyone had some ACTUAL results, not a butt dyno, or just "it feels good".

I know for $45, it's not a big deal, but if there's no gain, then I'm not wasting $45, I can find something else more pleasureable to waste it on.

Opinions are welcomed, but I'm looking for actual evidence rather than theoretical functionality.

I look at it more as an "insurance" part for your bottom end. Keeping your bottom end parts oiled well. In certain cases without a crankscraper...lets say autocross for example...Hard braking, hard left/right turns cause that oil in the pan to shift from left to right splashing around and could possibly not lubricate a certain area of the bottom end properly. There probably isn't much of a noticeable gain if any.

My understanding is the crankscraper aides in an even lubrication method. I have one and it makes me feel somewhat safer.

yeah, i mean it DOES decrease rotational mass...and especially with our engines so picky about oil and their tendency to starve themselves of it...it IS a good insurnace policy to keep as much oil down and going through the pumps and oiling the necessary parts..instead of sloshing around and slowing the rotating assembly

Exactly. I installed one to feel safer about turning/braking hard, not for a power gain.

Hard right turns causes starvation. I hate it. Then I have to explain why it happens to my stupid friends.

BTW: I take corners hard somedays that's why I'm buying one from iamnotwhoiam.

Exactly. I installed one to feel safer about turning/braking hard, not for a power gain.

Have not installed on yet, but those are the reasons why one should install one.

i love it, although when i installed it i also installed a spec clutch with lightened flywheel and an af/x UDP....so it was a huge difference over just installing a crankscraper im sure.

DEFINATELY noticeable power improvement, as well as fast revving up and down, and with the way i drive...the oil NEEEEEDS to stay in the pan....so oil control is definately a big plus too

everyone should get one, thats what i think

i noticed gas milage improvements, don't remember by how much now but they were noticable...

mods: PT Cruiser clutch + 60mm tb + crank scraper the normal mods, bass, lights n all the rest...

Like I said, I knew what it was for and read tons of things about it (basically everything's that said above).

I'm gonna get one anyway, the motor'll be brand new, so it won't hurt.

i installed mine after i had my underdrive pulley on for a while and there is definitly a noticeable differnece in how fast the car revs up with it on. it reved much faster.

why not put one on, i am getting one for my rebuild in like 2 weeks. it cant hurt you in anyway just help you, like ^^^ said, its insurance!
