81546, CAR DIED ON ME!!
Posted by reaxion, Oct-10-04 11:30 AM
I go out for a drive with the g/f, get back in the car, and she wont start. I figure I might have left the dome light on, but it wasnt on for that long to drain the battery. So I have my buddy come out and give me a jump. Im driving home, and my battery light comes on. I think its the batter (Im going to check the voltage on it right now). Any ideas, other than the face that my battery is just plain old?

Alternator issues may be on the rise as well.

Checked voltage on the battery, comes out to 12.6.

Which fuse do I check, how do I check the alternator?

Ok, checked the alternator fuse, its ok.

When I first started messing around with the car, the lights/radio would not come on. After a while, the radio and the lights finally came on. I can hear the car trying to turn over, barely clicking, but nothing.

I did find some corrosion on my terminals, im going to try and clean them and see if that does the trick.

Also, I found a plug laying around right by my fuse box, but couldnt find where it was supposed to go if it did go anywhere... This is puzzling the crap out of me.

Replace the battery. I had the same thing happen a long time ago. Turned out to be the battery.
