installed a new alarm today that draws a lot of current off the tach signal wire for remote start. now dash tach will not work. i have a single wire spliced into the tach wire at the ECU that i pull a tach signal from. i have 3(?) sources pulling a signal off that wire, my alarm, my 034EFI, and my shift light. i have a resistor in-line on the 034 tach wire.

my question is this: can i remove the wire spliced into the tach wire at the ECU, and tap into the tach signal wire off the tach adapter for my MSD so that i dont pull all the current from the ECU signal?

if i can, which wire in the MSD tach adapter harness is the one im lookin for?

Yes. If you have an MSD, you don't need to tap the stock ignition wire anymore. I have my 034EFI, alarm, and WB02 all hooked to the MSD tach out, with no problems. The only thing I had to do was hook a 5.7k ohm resistor in series with the line going to the 034EFI to get it to work...

i have the resistor in-line on the 034, so which wire is the one i would use off either the MSD unit or the tach adapter, since it has two wires for input and output?

I really don't know if you can .....but heres how it goes on the tach adapter.....

INPUT wires

brown/white connects to the white wire going to the coils and ecu
brown/green connects to the green wire going to the coils and ecu

OUTPUT wires
white connects to the white wire going to the msd ignition
green connects to the green wire going to the msd ignition

nevermind, i was reminded ny a very nice tech guy at MSD that the DIS-2 has an actual tach output connectionoon the actual DIS-2 Box! :P
