81070, Timing on the Cams.....
Posted by er0ckz, Sep-27-04 10:59 PM
Hey what's going on guys. I've recieved my build motor and I will soon be installing it in my car. This is my first time pulling my motor out and installing it back in. I will be installing the cams/springs/valves/retainers (All stock parts) back in the head.

From what I heard, taking out the cams will mess up the timing. Is this true?

And if it is, what can I do to get it back to the right timing?

Thanks.

yea you will absolutly have to redo your timing, but fear not my friend read my write up on lining up the cam gears and putting on your timing belt...

Best suggestion I can make for you is to get a Service Manual, you will need it for torque specs, and since you haven't done this before when you do come to a point you are unsure about it'll make a great reference.
