81035, Oil temp guage hookup ... Good readings using T ? Posted by brokenrodguy, Sep-27-04 07:19 AM
I just got a oil temp guage that says I should tap into my oil pan. Can I just run a T off the stock switch hole or will my readings suck ? The way I think about it, Oil will flow better in the pan so I get better results. Im also hooking up a pressure sensor so will I be able to just run another T ?
TIA

Your reading will be low. I had this set up and you are FAR better off putting it in the pan.

Wouldn't be more accurate if it's being read where the oil pressure sensor would be? Just tee it off? Because oil pan, its only taking the average but not the actual temp within the block. What's you take on that?
