hey i dont know how install my super air filter canister can someone help?



bahahahaha. ok anyways. im in the process of getting mine installed and debating on where to put it. i have an after market cd player with the little hole under it, and im thinking either there, or right below it to the right of the cigarette lighter. can you guys with safc's post some pics of where yours is? if i have problems ill be asking (thats why its here and not Pits. thanks.

here ya go niglet, this works GREAT i think because i can see the wideband readout, boost and adjust on the fly. and if a copper pulls me over i take it off and put it inder my seat ;)

fogs came in, thanks man. the one works the other doesnt lol. what are those fogs so i can replace the part thats cracked? they will look good not cracked haha

Do you have a sunroof? If so, this what i did. On the sunroof you will see the control for the sunroof on the other sideof htat is a clip that you can take of with a flathead. then you will see 2 screws, i took those screws off, then that piece can "snap" off, i made a hole in the mount (so it would fit right where the screws were originally, and i tilted it toward the driver).....


You will have to take apart the base ofthe mount to get it up there. It is a simple install really and it looks really good. I will take pics and post them.

actually i am going to put a sunroof in, and i know exactly what your talking about. now im having some safc problems. i believe the person before me had presettings on it ? everything was higher then what it should be. it was like +20 or something. i smell gas really bad, and when i tap the gas it dies. ive adjust pretty much every setting to -20 or so and its still kinda cuts out. any setting changes i should make ? this is safc1

Verify your settings.

Read the two or three install writeups on the main site Sections -> Mods to get the correct settings.

Wow. You shouldnt just throw it in with someone elses settings. Zero it out, check your wiring and start from there... +20 and -20 shouldnt be needed...

yea thats also what i did. when i turned it to just turn on, all the settings were whack. so i set it to 0 for everything and it smelled so i set it lower (sorry i worded it wrong, i set everything to 0 first) im still messing with it but i need an 02 sensor cause flipping into the etc part that shows the voltage and back and forth sucks ass. anyone got one?

do these settings take effect immediately? or do i have to hit something in one of the menus for them to go into effect? im still fucking around with this shit.

ok my last post on this lol. the only thing i can think of at this time to why its doing this, is that when i hooked the battery back up, maybe the ecu 'learned' the old setup? cause everything is set to 0 and its still being gay. im in the process of resetting the ecu. any other suggestions? yes i did start it with his setup

Here was my setup about a year and a half ago. It's changed a lot since then.

If you don't mind loosing your center vents...

now i dont know whats up....i took the battery cables off for about 5 minutes to reset it, hooked it back up with the safc having 0 across all the settings, but im getting some issues between 1000-2000. i hooked up the 02 sensor and its telling me at idle its like .91-.92, i give gas it sinks down alittle. between 1000-2000 it wants to die. its like .02-.08 or so. after 2000 its fine, but the 02 sensor shows the same, .02-.08. when i get off the gas its back at .92ish. when i give it gas again it feels like it wants to die. to me, it seems like if there is any load, it dies. if i just sit in one place its fine. but when i drive its acting up. thanks for the pics

Did you set the "IN" and "OUT" correctly? When I used to have an AFC, 6 IN and 6 OUT seemed to give me the best results.

how are you setting it?

ive done 6 in 6 out and 7 in 7 out. either way its the same. i have noticed that it really only does it between 1000-2000 where it wants to die. and do the settings take effect right away? or do i have to hit something to make it take effect

Everything you change with the SAFC is updated in realtime, you don't need to restart the unit or change menus/modes to confirm the new values.

i guess when you wire the bitch correctly it makes changes on the fly!

i had the MAP wires switched around. i wired the MAP wires back to they way they were suppose to be without the SAFC, and it ran fine. so i got to thinking and switched the wires. it works fine now. i noticed on the pressure part it will go from -750 to +.5, so i guess its doing something, compared to just staying at -120. thanks for the help! peace.

i think im going to re-wire mine. cat5 cabling (ethernet cable) has 8 wires in it, and in a very thin wire. solid copper to. i think that would look really nice, and it will definitly be a black cable, not white. what you think?
