the correct bolt used to tighten/loosen the alt pulley.

there are 3 or 4 bolts in a triangle pattern, then one in the middle that i cant get to, and a smaller one that runs through the alt on the bottom, this one is closer to the oil pan. i cant see much on the drivers side of the alt because of sensors and shitty lighting.

i have loosened em all, and i get nothin except for a little play in the alternator from side to side, not back to front.

help is always appreciated

To tighten/loosen the Alt. pulley it should be two bolts the adjuster lock bolt and the adjuster bolt you loosen the adj. lock bolt then you turn the adj. bolt left or right to move the alternator back or forward to tighten/loosen the belt. You should be able to do this from the top.Hope this helps.

Not if you have cruise control, you can't get at the tensioner bolt the cruise box is in the way.

yeah, the cruise box was in the way. only a few bolts, and it was moved. there is one on the bottom of it that you cant see also. i have to get to the tensioner lock bolt from behind the intake manifold and then reach towards myself and get the nut with an open wrench, 13 mm. the tensioner one on top was hard to get to also, but from above after the box was out the way, i was able to do it.

anywho, thanks for the remarks, and all the help. im going to upgrade the writeup/tenstep skinny when i get time
