I would imagine by reading the instructions on the product. Makes me wonder what you kiddies were doing when dad explained what run-of-the-mill carb cleaner did. Christ all mighty.

exactly what i thought... well he has his right to think what he wants, but i don't appreciate his remark... i don't want this to turn out to be some flame war so lets end this now and not lower our selves to childish trash talk...

that out of the way, seafoam is a multi purpose carb cleaner that can be used in oil, gas, or put right into the carb/throttle body... they had said that it was amazing stuff, but i couldn't find it here at the time...

now i was only a mechanic for 8 years......in the scope of a lifetime that is tiny, but i worked with a lot od seasoned techs and this is what i learned.

Over the past 50 years there have been more easy fiz products than children born. This includes slick 50 and all your oil additives, injector cleaning sprays such as seafoam, gas additives ect. None have lasted over 10 years and still supported their guarentees. all came and went...(with the exception of gum out products/hogwash ect)

Now how does that make you feel when using these fix it quick products. I have never used seafoam and refuse to. a guy i worked with (clerical kid) uses the oil additive and does seem to put 2 and 2 together. has put new motors in his p/u over and over....yeah he is a little dumb (retarded seriously....appears a little slow)

Now slick 50 is still on the shelf surprisingly but do you ever see and commercials for it and have you notived it has gotten pushed aside for other things at the parts store. every tiem i look at it i see dust on the bottles.

Personally i go with good old fashion maintenance...reg oil changes, injector cleaning (compressed service not additives) although once in a great while i run a can of gumout injector cleaner for the lines ect, And once a year throttle body removal and cleaning. Rarely have problems with related components, just my luck possibly

Well maybe you should do a little research before spouting off about something you dont know about.
In no way am I an advocate of stupid engine fixs like slick 50 but Seafoam isnt one of those.

It has been around since the 1930's and was originally designed for marine applications. No one ever said it was anything like slick 50 or a miracle cure. But is sure has worked well for me with my engine cleaning and as a basic part of my maintenance regime.

and no I dont work for them, but I do use their product.
