79807, Different intake pressure with different in/out on s-afc, which best? Posted by GSGoinFast, Aug-28-04 07:29 PM
hey, i just finished installing my s-afc II, and i was messing with it and noticed some things. i had it at 7 in 7 out and when the car is off it has an intake pressure of -70 or -71. when i have it at 6 in 6 out it has a pressure of +.56 when the car is off. and at 5 in 5 out the pressure is +.10 when the car is off. which would be best? do i want it as close to 0 as possible? or do i want the 7 in 7 out cuz im not going to have full atmosphere pressure due to temperature and elevation(not that high tho) or what not? thanks for the help.

All cars differ, just play with it till your car runs the best.

There is a method to set this accuratly on the net. I dont have the link with me but if you search SAFC tuning you might find it. The in/out is a multiplier so the afc reads your pressure sensor accuratly. Our cars use 6 or 7 depending on the car. some people have better luck on 6 but many use 7.
It will depend on your altitude so that info will be useful if you can find it.

I cant remember who, but he tought while you car is running do a vac check. What ever it reads take that number and multiply it by 25.4. Take that number and look at your safc pressure and see how close it is to 460mmHg. If its not close or its close and you think you can do better, play with the in and out numbers on your setup. The best to go through is 5,6,and 7, in and out. Just remember to shut your car off everytime you go to change your settings, then on off, then start. After doing this, my car is running perfect. Im idling at about 750-790 and my vac pressure is actually about 440-450. Before I was idling like 900-1200 and my vac was in the 300's.
Good luck DJ

I suggest 7/7, with 6/6 your ecu will see a positive pressure, and that is NOT good on 96+.
