79562, I have something to contribute to the Jeep TB Mod.(pics)

Aight, i got my tb in the mail, and i bolted it up, looked at it a little and knew i had to have a rubber stopper. So i looked around for a while for something that would work, but i said screw it. I have that paper gasket maker from makin a gasket for my old tb. And i have some epoxy in my car from doing misc things. So i just figured i'd epoxy up that gap you gotta put the plug in... Check it out. It took me 2 minutes.

What i did was i found a really flat table, i laid some alluminum foild on on it. Then, i put the tb on the side of the table because the iac gets in the way from letting it lay flat. Then, below that vac nipple i put a tooth pick. I mixed up a little bit of expoxy, and dropped it in there. You gotta hold the toothpick up against the tb. Once it was over flowing over the toothpick, I grabbed another toothpick and laid it above that nipple. Then it was flowing out between them, so i put a bunch of toothpicks vertically, and pressed them back up against the horizontal two picks. i put more expoxy in there, then a couple hours later i came back, broke off all the tooth picks, grabbed a knife, ripped off the foil, and dug out the other toothpicks, and shaved some of the excess off so it looks like it does now. Sweet huh? im going to test it tomorrow.

Not for nothing but I think this is the rubber stopper it was talking about sealed with a little rtv.I could be wrong though :shrug

notice the stock tb on the left...that stopper blocks off where that port is on the intake the 60mm doesn't have that and the way it lines up on the intake it will/might let a serious air leak occure.

I think that you might have plugged the wrong hole.

totally un necessary.

You have to plug the hole in the intake manifold. Like mentioned above, the jeep tb doesnt like to seal it. Your stock tb sued it , your jeep goes about controlling the idle a little defferently.

besides, your pic gives it an optical illusion. you should flip your stock tb 180* for them to get a good look at it.
