7956, next steps, and questions Posted by vegasdsmr, Nov-22-01 02:38 PM
here's my situation...
my performance mods as of now are custom dual ram-air short ram intake, 2.5" mandrel bent exhaust, udp (install is cummin friday when i can get a gear pulla), plugs, 8.5" wires, and both upper strut bars, and a valve cover breather(even though its not really for performance).
my next mod is to have my extra Throttle body sent to howell and get it bored to 55mm, and after that port my intake manifold, or get a spare one and port that as well as block off the egr.
then hopefully stage one turbo to a fmic, ect....
do these steps seem like the right way to go??
i have access to a few 2gnt, and dsms in a junkyard that im goin to on saturday. are there certain things worth getting from them and porting, or upgrading???i already have sum ideas on what to do next, but creative input from yall is always helpful!!!
tia
p.s. i know that the bottom end rebuild option is there, but not til i blow up first!

I noticed a difference in the higher rpms after I ported the manifold. The car didn't feel like it quit pulling at 6000rpm, It pulled hard all the way to 7200 rpm.
Missing Car. . . Contemplating Turbo. . . . .

I bought an extrude honed manifold and it gave me roughly 2/10ths at the drag strip.
Anything you can do to improve the manifold flow will help, since the inside of the runners is just as rough as the outside of the manifold, since it's a sand cast piece.
Sand casting is fast, that's why the car manufaturers use it even though it hurts air flow, but alot are now making injection molded plastic intake manifolds instead.
