Idle shouldn't matter whether it is turbo or non-turbo (unless you are running super lean).
I have a turbo and my idle is about 900 degrees.

When my car is sitting and let it warm up it sits a 900 also. Even after driving around and boosting I let it idle before I shut it down and it hits 900.

900 here at idle. it hits 900 pretty easily even at stop lights and such. Being turbo'ed its important to know the EGT, but being n/a without anything else it seems like more of a "fun" gauge.
