guys the shop working on my car is have alot of problem finding a electrical ignition issue that is plaguing my car. The car will run, just half ass when it does. It will run for a couple minutes the the idle will lump and start to drop cylinders. they replaced the crank sensors and the ignition coil... what other sensors affect ignition timing????

ummm...maybe coolant temp? i know it has a lot to do with idle and send lots of info to teh ecu.

Map sensor, Cam sensor, Crank sensor, ASD relay,(Coolant temp is really more fuel related, but :shrug ) You may want to look at the IAC also as it seems to be an idle problem. This should give you a good start...

Tell them to retimethe motor, with as "good" as they have been so far, they probably messed up the physical timing of the engine.

yea but wouldn't u notice that it being off time right away it would idle fairly high... they actually have it electronically recorded dropping a cylinder. i got them a new ignition capacitor today and still no word... im having bad luck with this.

When i did my t-belt the first time, my idle was actually low and lumpy, not high. I was 1 tooth off...

Depends on which cam was off in which direction. Exhaust cams tend to throw your idle all wacky because it takes the fuel injector timing off kilter with regards to the intake valves opening due to the cam angle sensor being on the end of it.

well what EXACT procedure would you use dino to time an engine that had the head milled 35 thousands. I do have adj cam gears... i will go out there monday and prolly stay until it runs.
