Anyone have the price and amout of hours in labor this would cost to do?

I know it'd be cheaper to geta manular eclipse and sell mine, but I dont have that option since i've invested so much already.

How much to swap, folks, i'll pay whatever.

Ok, now anyone with any responses about the swap??

And pardon my usage of the word "manular."

Your best bet would be to find all the parts yourself (at a junkyard or something) and then find someone do the swap. Otherwise you'll probably get screwed on parts of cost. Labor wise they'll probably charge around $1000. Parts wise your probably looking at another $1000. The numbers are a little on the high side but they are just safe estimates.

BTW if you do the swap get an aftermarket clutch put it at the same time. They shouldn't charge you an extra because you're taking the whole thing out anyways.

level 10 IMO. Manual swap is a long expensive process. gotta get a new brake pedal, and install the entire clutch pedal and ish. The tranny itself isn't the hard part. It's the custom fabrication to make it fit so u can actually use it.

Nick,
You thinking about going that route too? I'm just going to wait and see if this tranny goes because of the turbo and when that bridge comes, I'm going to cross it. Anyhow, I think Dino (Darkone) hooked up with some dude that did the conversion on his Eclipse, so hit him up or Darkone, post on here and let us Auto guys know what we need to do to convert man.....

Word. Mike Jefferson told me your selling your turbo? I knew you were havuing troubles with the manifold cracking.

Ya think a stick eclipse will be faster then your turbo auto? :)

I would expect to pay $1500 to $2000. While you are doing the swap you might as well put in perf. clutch etc, so... don't be surprised by a large price tag for the project. I still endorse the swap. Your best bet woul be to find a junkyard car and pull all the parts off of one car if possible.

well i really want to do it.. but money is prob going to be my killer.. trying to work a deal with this guy who owns a transmission shop that is prob going to give my club a big sponsorship because we sponsor his sons bball and football team .. and im trying get a meet up with the kids to show them our cars and play sports with them.. toget us in good with him.. so maybe he can hook it up..

whats the diff between a manual and a level 10???

and nick forgive me if im wrong.. but dont turbos spool up faster in a auto.. and you never miss a gear and in bracket racing you will always run consistent times.. unless you want just the fun of driving a stick and the power on the st.. and launch.. i want a 5spd... really bad.. just poor
