Ok, I just got my SFMU in the mail from somebody off of ebay. Everything looks to be here except a vacuum hose restrictor. What is this and do I need this?
For now I am running the SFMU, N/A. The turbo will be put in after I break in the motor. So for now, I need help with setting this thing up.

1. I dont know which disc is which?
2. I recieved only to springs, is this right and which one?
3. What do I do with the boost port?
4. When Im all said and done, am I still running a vac line to the top?
5. Forgot, what about the rings?
6. Does the 3.62 disc also have a ring with it?

I really appreciate some straight forward answers.

I didnt get a vacuum restrictor when i bought mine new from Summit. It has run fine without it. From what i understand it smoothes out the vacuum/boost coming into the SFMU.

Of the two springs, the short darker one is the faster rise rate spring. The only port you need to do anything with is the bleed port, thats if yours came with the little bleed valve. Go ahead and connect the vacuum line to the top of the SFMU, you will need it to set your idle fuel pressure. The biggest disk doesnt have a disc.

Search the turbo section for SFMU and you will get tons of results.

Actually if you are installing this on a NA 96+ you wound need to hook up the vac line at all. set the static to 47-50 psi and leave it alone. If you hook up the vacuum line to it you will need to set the vacuum screw to 47-50 psi to match the factory regulator's specs. You should do that anyway so when you go turbo you are all set.

The other two ports you will not adjust right now. The bleed port you will not use unless you have the bleed valve.

Install the dark spring.
If you are not upgrading the injectors use the 3.62 (largest disk, also comes preinstalled in the FMU) no ring!

Reference the instructions...they are very good to understand.

I ran my 97 with the SFMU set up just like this with no vac until i got the turbo on and at 47psi she ran like stock, as it should.

DO NOT TAKE THE VALVE PORTION APART.....IT WILL REQUIRE REPLACING IF YOU DO!....this is stated in the instruction

i use the 2.72" disc and ring combo with my 440cc injectors.

the largest disk was just too high of a rise rate.

Well just got done with the install and you guys were right, easy as cake!!
