I heated the timing belt sprocket up and smacked it right on the crank, then did the same for the underdrive pulley sprocket thing, except I didnt beat it all the way on, so I could use the crankshaft bolt to pull it into place. Well, it was just about there, I was getting ready to back off the air wrench and be done with it, but, no, the bolt broke off, eh...

As you know, the crankshaft threads start 2 inches down into it, so the bolt is broken off starting 2 inches deep, with about 1.5-2" of thread in there...

i guess i will try to tap it with a punch and get a little divit it the middle, drill it with a 11/64" bit, then use a #3 screw extractor to try and bite down and break it loose

sound like a plan? any better ideas?

since the bolt was pulling the pulley on i would think it shouldnt be too tight and you should be able to extract it.

Sweet, problem solved.

You all were right, after the bolt broke, the tension was released on the threads. I was going to tap it in the center with a center punch, when i went to do that, the broken section moved freely, so I just used 2 screw drivers and turned it until it came out.

Haha, that was a close one. I am glad the bolt gave out and not the threads :/
