Yep, thats right.. When I had that piston smashing valve problem, it must have been hard enough to *slightly* bend the Eagle rod. I got everything back together and it ran great, but after a bit, the motor got this strange vibration/rattle sound, from that #4 cylinder. Turns out that the rod is very slightly bent, mostly at the piston pin side..its soo small, that it took a while to see it..So once again, the head is off, and that #4 piston is out..Next day another eagle rod, new bearing, and *hopefully* if everthing goes as planned, i will have it back together thursday, in time for the SHOOTOUT!! Is this hardcore or what???

Haha yeah less smoke breaks this time :) Dude, I just got the new rod/piston back in the motor, and just have to get the oil pan on, an take off that side motor mount bracket, then the head is ready to put back on..Get down here foo!

Fuck, I'm am beat :) After getting the new rod and head back on, that vibration/rattle noise was still there! After some dectective work, we decided we had to drop the trans. Got the trans out, and found 2 things: One, was that the clutch disk center spline hub was pretty loose in the disk. Second, the flex plate was CRACKED at the center bolts where it mounts to the crank..For once, luck was on my side, as we have a Dodge dealer that has a parts counter open till midight. For the strangest reason, they actually had a new flexplate in stock. And once again i got lucky by having an old 6 puck ceramic disk clutch laying around, so we put that in also. Got it back together with the wheels touching the ground at around 2:15 AM, fired right up, and motor/trans/clutch sound PERFECT :) :)

I want to give a HUGE, HUGE thanks to Matt(soulcontroller) as he put in sooo much hard work and effort with me to get this done.

I am going to assume it was from the sudden impact of the piston hitting and destroying my exhaust valve..the motor "siezed" so to speak in seconds, even before i had much time to react..Or maybe its been stressed for too long, and that just did it in..hell i dont know :)

Good job dude, at least it worked out in the end. Oh and I think he cracked the flexplate due to all that masive horsepower he is making. :evilgrin

anyway its amazing that flexplate cracked in an entire circle around those bolts. but thinking about how it happened it makes sense. im sure it was quite a jar/impact at that point when the engine suddenly just stopped. it would be like me throwing my car in park driving down the road :o
