78704, after market oil pressure gauge placement... ok to put at sandwich adapter w/oil cooler
Posted by jsupetran, Aug-08-04 06:27 AM
I was wondering if I build a fitting at the oil sandwich adapter, can I have my oil pressure located where the oil is sent to the oil cooler? Would I get the same readings like I would if the pressure sensor is behind the engine?

Reason I ask is that I will be better able to service it if I put it down there... Thanks.

That drops the filter dangerously low, so you have to use a low profile filter, but otherwise i wouldnt see any reason not to do it. What about the sender do you need to service? once its on, its on!

Thanks for the response... Yeah, I have the purolator short filter and it is perfect, almost matches stock specs. Anyway, yeah, I just don't want to put it behind the block since it is such a pain to ever go back there.
