78635, ADVICE PLEASE Posted by philcav7, Aug-06-04 12:48 PM
I am going to stay pretty basic with the upgrades but have a few questions. Here are my plans and the questions...
Long or short CAI? I will probably get AEM but am curious if the the full legnth air intake make much if any improvement on a street car.
Underdrive pulley.
What size TB? 54mm, 55mm, 60mm???
Port and polish the upper and lower intake manifold. Do I need port work on the heads to make this effective? What exactly do I want done here?
GST series exhaust.
Fill me in on details on building a NA 420a. I am not looking for a race car, just something a little quicker and fun to do.
Opinions and comments welcomed.

Is there really a difference between Injen/AEM intakes considering the price difference?
AEM: short $90. long $140 Injen: short $140. long $240
What do I need to do to put a jeep TB on? any mods needed? I planned on porting the manifold to match the TB. Is there any port work that should be done on the bottom manifold?

Here we go again!
The difference between the most perfectly designed and tuned CAI and an eBay short ram with dryer ducting from the air dam to the element is likely about 3 hp on a moderately built engine imo. So you have to ask yourself, is one or two horsepower really worth another $50? $100? I think not. Two things I'll never own on my car: name brand intake and new, name brand exhaust (namely header). My .02.
