Those of you who have done the 2.4 swap about how much did it cost you? I am going to be pulling my engine and I am now concidering going with a 2.4L This car is no longet my daily driver so I will have plenty of time to fab up brackets and such.

best time so far 14.3 @ 101.1mph(no traction)
fastest 2GNT with a hitch! until proven wrong...

i built a 2.5L with custom rods and pistons for just under 1400$, but thats full race and no expense spared :shrug....

you could theoretically build one for under 400-500$ though, yes you read that right.

2.4 shortblocks are a dime a dozen
srt-4 internals are CHEAPPPPP

but typically going 2.4 means you're going balls out in general...

if you're serious about the swap though hit me up, i have gobs of info you'd love to hear im sure

about 400 in machineshop work (that was cheap for what i got)....

Custon made pistons, forged conecting rods bout a tad over 700 (with jobber price on them :eek )

new rings 70 bucks, new bearings about 70 more, new headgasket,

welding for your custom oil pan (free for me since i do it myself)

Then calculate about 120 for oil pump, 60 for water pump, ect ect

Its not something if you are really on a budget

I am not really on a budget. I am going to sell my 2.0 built block to pay for some of it. I decided to keep my car so I am gona go all out and try to make this thing fast. 2.4 will give me some low end torque I am looking for.
