78180, Ground Wire Kit???? IS IT WORTH IT???
Posted by mlsbka, Jul-27-04 09:28 PM
As far as hp gains go for putting on a Ground wire kit how much does it come out to on average?

Me and silvereclipse were having a debate whether its worth it or not to buy a ground wire kit...I personally believe that its not really worth it unless your stock electrical wires are messed or some shit like that... i think its not worth it if u want power gains...But he says that they are great for power gains and also he felt the power gains in mid rpms when he put those wire on...That was sorta hard for me to belive espically cause he has a lot mods and adding a ground wire kit..how could he even feel a power difference.

After resarching i found out they really only smooth out your idle and give better gas mileage which could be other reasons for buying the kit but other then that not worth it!

So we decided to let the 2gnt commuinty be the judge of that.

HOLY SHITBALLZ BATMAN! you wont gain a lot of power but it smooths out your idle and makes the car run smoother.

definately get a set. jwoodley sells em for 28 bucks in custom colors. his stuff is great quality and it is worth it imo. you wont notice any insane amount of hp from it but everything will run a lot smoother.

The only thing a ground wire kit did for me, was get rid of my mystery stereo whine that 2 stereo shops couldnt figure out.

lol, you need to find a better stero shop :P

when i made my ground wire kit and installed it it kinda perked up my throttle response and made my interior lights brighter. smoother idle. smoother overall.

i could've sworn i either
a: mailed you
b: responded to the thread
c: pm'd you

I want to have the first GW kit imported to CA IMO. I'll drop you an email. =) (Im a tard sometimes....)

As far as gains...
+ better gas mileage
+ increased performance of the overall electrical system
+ smoother RPMS down low and up top
+ brighter interior lights
+ increased spark efficiency

I could keep going. No need to argue. Customers have left their feedback as well as a few of the sites "wisemen". You decide, but keep in mind I only have about 3 sets worth of connectors left. After that, there will be no more $28 kits. You'll pay retail IMO.

lmao....ya seriously bud that is a common issue...fiend of mine was an installed an owned his own shop...most whines are from grounding issues. If you stereo ever fades in and out with your bass notes....antenna ground prob.

This info on ground wire kit is interesting...hard to believe so many peopel full of shit....lol just kidding interresting though, might have to make one now

Well the first shop couldnt find the issue so they wanted to sell me new stuff. The second shop(one of the best in Phoenix) tested all of my stereo equipment and connections and concluded it wasnt in the stereo system, but in the cars electrical system. Ground wire kit fixed it.

Oh crap you live in pheonix .... a friend of a friend is one if not the best installer there. I know thats a steep title right....he works for an install company privatly owned and does exotics only. He has the contracts for all your mercedes, lambo, ferrari and porshe dealers. May be you have heard of him Verner sight and sounds? Ryan Marley? I have to sayi have seen his work and y god its top notch.

If it hasn't already been said, an ohmeter is a great tool for checking grounds. External grounds(the ones you see) and internal grounds(the ones completely encased thru connectors) must all have a resistance less than one ohm all the time. If so, your good to go!:thumbsup
