So I have no clue when the timing belt on this car was done, or anything else for that matter. It has 150k on it, so I figure that I might as well take care of everything before it bites me for not doing it. I put 450 miles a week on it, so I can't have it bite the dust.

So I've done some research, and I'm going to take lots of pictures when I do this, but I just want to make sure I have a full list of stuff that I should do while I have everything torn apart. PLEASE let me know if you can think of anything else that I should replace. Also, let me know what place would be cheapest for this stuff. I have a NAPA discount, but I usually shot at Autozone, and since I just moved, there is a Murray's around here as well. I know Autozone has free tool rental, so I may go there just to borrow a few specialty tools if they carry them.

Parts list:
Serpentine Belt
Timing Belt
Tensioner
Tensioner Pulley
Idler Pulley
Water Pump
Cam seals (optional?)

Let me know if there is anything that I'm overlooking that's a common wear part. I'll eventually try to get a write up with pictures when I do it. I'm going to have one here pretty soon about the gauge overlays.

You do not need Cam seals, they are good to replace but not needed unless yours are leaking.

Your list looks good though.

Make sure you have a good day set aside, a floor jack, stands, a torque wrench, and metric sockets and wrenchs, and harmonic balancer remover (not a generic one, it is specifically for our 2GNTs, neons, etc.

One of the pages mentioned a 3 jaw 5-ton puller, and that page lists one.

Rent the 3jaw 5ton puller.

I'm about set to do mine too...but I haven't had much luck finding the tensioner. The parts stores say that's a deal only part and satan wants like 300 bucks for one....does that sound right?

Also I bought the NAPA pulley kit and belt.

Tell him you are w/2GNT, the tensioner should cost you about 90.00 or so. Maybe 100.00 with shipping.

Are you serious? I can't remember the last time I spent $100 for one small part. Man, I should go back to my small block chevies. Everything is dime a dozen for them.

Free tool rental from AutoZone... I'll go towards the end of the week to get everything and to see if anyone else chimes in with any recommendations.

Ok they want $300 because they looked up the wrong part. They are looking at the tensioner pulley/bracket i'd put money on it. Go to dodge they should be able to give you a good price. Most parts stores wont have the hydraulic tensioner.

Total with tax for me was 154.40, and this is with my discount. Before my discount it was 210 and change. Debating whether or not to get this stupid tensioner since no one has it. Autozone has a manufacturer listed, but it's still unavailable. The stores I checked that don't carry the tensioner - AutoZone, Napa, Parts Plus, Pepboys, and Murrays. I think it's safe to say that no body make a replacement except mopar. I think I'm going to wing it and use the old one. Same with the bracket that in the car, I'm just gonna reuse the bracket and replace the pulley.

Gonna do it next week once I get the puller since AutoZone didn't have it in stock last time.
