Ok guys, I've tried everything I can think of. It's been four months since I drove my car and yesterday I tried to start it after the rebuild. But it won't even turn over. The starter doesn't click or nothing. The battery is good b/c we tried jumping the car and it still didn't turn over. The starter is good because we jumped that too (when it was off the engine) and the starter worked. I used a test light to see if I was getting power to the starter connectors. The main one was hot but the other littler one wasn't getting any power. Could you fellas help me out? Thank you much!

Have you checked the starter relay?

if hes tryin to hot jump the starter the relay doesnt matter. check the ECU yet?

Yeah I checked the ECU and still nothing. Got any other ideas?

How is your battery? new/old?

I got a new battery 5 or 6 months before the rebuild. Then it sat for 4 months w/out being charged. You think I need a new battery?

Maybe. I would just get a friend with the same battery group size and swap it in and test it before you go buying a new one.

Try this: with the starter mounted up, hook positive power to the solenoid and ground it the casing, if does not even click or make any noise, then you need a new one. If it makes noise but seems to have a lot of resistance, get a socket and breaker bar on the crank and see how easy it is to turn it over.

Since you have no signal from the key start tracing it back, check for starter signal at the ignition switch. Check the obvious, fuses, fusable links, ect.

Where did you bolt the ground wire that is supposed to be attached to the upper staer bolt?

Is there 12v+ on the starter solinoid wire when you're trying to crank the car?

Are all the fuses in the engine bay fuse box good?

Check those, report back, and i'll tell you what to check.

Well my starter ground is bolted to the bellhousing by the top starter bolt. When trying to crank the car, there is no power going through the solenoid wire that goes to the starter motor, there is power going to the main connection but none going to the other one on the solenoid. Oh and all my fuses are good. What do you think it could be?

If you jumper the solinoid wire to the battery, does it crank?

If so, it's probably the relay, or something's not plugged in.

Hey guys I just want to thank you all for trying to help me out here. Turned out I didn't hook up the two plug-ins together on two different wiring harness bundles by the starter :rolleyes Well now the cars running and all, but I have a nasty oil leak around the two outside spark plug wells, I imagine between the top of the head and the valve cover. So I took off the valve cover thinking it was the seals in the valve cover that seal off the plug wells. But they all looked fine to me (seeing as how they're all new). What do you guys think could be the culprit?

BTW: How do I bleed the cooling system?

Could be your camshaft oil seals, and the cam position sensor seal? Or is it actually getting into the spark plug wells?

Yeah I guess the spark plug tube seals weren't new afterall. I couldn't remember if they were or not because I bought a valve cover gasket set and assumed new seals were in the kit. Once I get those in I shold be good to go!
