I have just installed my test pipe today, and now i have smoke come out of my exhaust at idle, I usually had smoke come out before too, but i think it was from oil, could it just be flowing more oil out? my exhaust seems to ratlle more, i think i might of lossened a mount. But damn did that things add power, but it made it sound a lil crappy. any opinions?

i smoked like crazy when i had a test pipe on my 2gnt..

Going with a test pipe will make the exhaust sound very raspy. The smoke will be more noticable to reduced restriction.

mine doesnt/has never made ANY rasp both back in the day when i was NA and even after i went turbo. it didnt/doesnt make me smoke either :shrug

Mine had a rasp when i was NA, and another local guys car has a raspy sound since going to a test pipe... :shrug

re-read what he said... he said he had smoke before, and now after the test pipe, he has more noticable smoke.

do you think the smoke is oil burning? I think it is from valve seals in my head.

mine sounds fine, im just worried about all the smoke when it sits and idles about 45 seconds. anyone think it is an oil leak in my head?

what color smoke? white, blue, black? all mean different things.. I'm assuming you are talking about blue smoke which could mean that oil is getting through/around your piston rings or that it is leaking through your valve stem seals. I believe that a compression test will tell you which you have.

And for the rasp... will replacing the cat with a resonator instead of a test pipe smooth out the sound? I'm thinking of doing this also.

im gonna go and look at the smoke today, but the question is should it be smoking??

does it smell like a lawnmower? i was burning oil and i couldnt hardly see any blue smoke in my exhaust at idle, but it smelled like a lawnmower.

yeah, it smells really bad, like a lawnmower, but there is also a ton of smoke when its idiling. i think im just going to buy a hi-flow converter. i have no other choice.

Putting in a high flow catalytic converter won't solve the problem of it smelling like it does, it will just hide it. If the car is properly tuned it won't smell any different if there is a catalytic converter or not, so long as the engine load is minimal (like at idle).

but it also sounds raspy and bad since i put the test pipe on :(

Boost will fix that. No worries IMO.
