the pump bolts right on the crank so im not sure if u have to pull the motor or just drop it or lift it. After that i beleive theres 3 long bolts and it comes off. Its a bitch to get to, the only time I did mine is when I had to pull the motor for a rebuild

Get yourself a Chilton's if you don't already have one. Use the section on changing the timing belt, that will walk you threw it.

You are going to have to remove your DP, drop your oil pan, take off the alternator, remove timing belt covers and timing belt (get a new one) and some idler barckets and the crank pulley - you'll need a puller, and if it's the stocker it's on there tight. Then you will be able to get to the oil pump. There are three bolts that run into the bottom (where the oil was) and a couple on the timing side of the engine. You don't *have* to pull it, but it's not fun. Figure a whole day if it's your first time. Good luck.

You are going to have to remove the passenger side motor mount, from there you can take off the bracket which holds the motor mount on, you wil have to either jack the motor up or down to get all the bolts off that hold the bracket on, then you can take off your timing belt cover, from there you need a pully puller to take off the crank pully, then use a pully to remove the timing gear, then you can get the oil pump off. You have to remove the timing belt cover to get the pully off I think. You need to drop the oil pan, and remove the oil pick up tube, then you can unblot the oil pump and remove it. Use some anerobic sealant to get it back on, then do all of the procedures to put the timing belt back on. While you are at it you could replace the water pump, tensioner, and the idler pully and timing pully and bracket. Thats not neccesary though. It would be a good idea to change the timing belt also unless its fairly new. I would keep the timing belt cover back on if I was you. Its not hard, it'll just take you a full day atleast if you have never done it, if you split it into two days it will be relly easy.

I have no clue where you live, but I'll be doing this exact process probably this coming weekend (23-25) If you want to come check it out, you'd more than welcome. My oil pump just does not want to give me pressure - at all.

I think he's trying to say you have to remove the passenger side motor mount to do the job. You don't have to *pull* the motor to do the oil pump, but it would sure make things easier.
