77405, i am stumped Posted by rydereclipse, Jul-10-04 10:04 AM
ok heres the deal, i dont know if my TPS is going bad, but here is what is happening. Every now and then my TPS reading is 0.0%, (all this is according to my S-AFC) but usually it reads about .1%-.9%, now i thought it was supposed to read .1%-.9% all the time when at idle, but it is reading 0.0% more and more often, could this be a symptom of it going bad? Now when i hit the throttle it reads normally in either one of the two above mentioned situations, Consequently i am having a problem with the car all of the sudden dieing when going down the road, could a bad TPS relate to this problem?(maybe by losing signal?) I have replaced almost all the sensors, except the TPS and MAP, but the S-AFC reads that the manifold pressure flucates normally and it reads 450-480 mmHg at idle with nothing on, so the MAP i am assuming is good, so that leaves the TPS sensor, and I am not so sure about that one. TIA for any help!!!!

yes i am turning the key, like i said the car will run, the question was regarding what is considered to be "normal" TPS operation
