77361, Are these pistons any good?
Posted by Blured, Jul-09-04 01:42 PM
I have recently bought Eagle rods for my rebuild and now im looking for pistons. I have a buddy that works at an auto parts place and can get me a really good deal on Mahle pistons. I've never heard of this company so I was just curious if they are a good company to go with. I eventually want to be able to run around 15 psi with a upgraded HRC Stage 2 kit. If these pistons wont be able to handle it, i'll go with the JE 's

They make our factory pistons, which is what you'd be buying.

Mahle sucks ass, I work for Karl Schmidt Unisia and they are our main competitor. Karl Schmidt Unisia doesn't, however, make pistons for our car. You guys wouldn't believe the design work that goes into designing a piston.

JE or Pauter are both high quality pistons that should be able to handle any boost you want to throw at them.

WOW! I was obviously extremely tired last night when replying to this post .... I was talking about rods. You want pistons. Well, JE makes pistons too (I lucked out there) but yeah ross or wiseco.

No, It's a heat cured solid film coating that reduces piston skirt temps and scuffing.
