Yo.

I got that crappy auto too.

ANyway, man you can ride in L and 2nd all day long, i sure do!

If you leave it in L, it will shift to 2nd even if you dont bump it up to 2nd. SO you could actually drive it liek that if you didnt mind the high rev and peppy pedal.

I only throw down with od off when necessary, so I can try to race someone and represent all eclipses, and make us ALL look bad.

IF YOUR AUTO AND NOT TURBO, DONT BOTHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a message from a non-turbo, all motor, automatic, eclipse beast.

You know I'm gonna take a little offense in that being still NA and an auto. I was running high 16s before I messed up the engine (don't ask it's a long story) and the funny acting tranny. Which is pretty damn good in my opinion. I don't lose to Civics all that much either (except a few).

In regards to the initial question, you won't hurt it upshifting. Downshifting maybe a little harder on the tranny but if you take good care of it, it should be all right.

Yeah upshifting and riding in L or 2nd wont do too much but throwing it down to low or second all the time is going to break something like Oracle did with his tranny.

Driving it manually some is actually good for it. It helps work the fluid in. Also, form a roll, downshifting manually is better than flooring it. The computer delays the downshift and u get a better response by manually downshifting. It will not let you hit the limiter or anything.
