I just replaced my lifters and in the process of getting to them, I ripped EVERYTHING out. I am now going to purchase some Crane #16 cams and AEM Tru Time Gears. Is there any special way those must go in??? DO they have to be lined up perfectly? I'm not sure about cams, I actually fear them! Also, what kind of benefits will I get from adjusting the timing?

you will definately notice a difference. most people would go with the fidanza cam gears cuz they have 5 bolts instead of aem's 3. but i got the aems, they just aren't on yet. anyways, have fun with the cams and cam gears and let us know when you get them in

No. theres no special way you need to put cams in or the gears. just put the gears on the cams, then put it all back in the head and fire her up! they are self adjusting and will take care of them selves!

as far as the benefits, you will get an easy 50-75 whp from playing with the gears...

I know your not stupid by any means, but dont listen to that. Ive always read(ive done my research) that aems true timing cam gears are OFF. You will have to remark the gears simply by installing your stock gears, lining them up perfectly, then by putting the aem gears on you'll see how far off the marks are. Use a little fingernail polish and be done with it.

Oh.. and dont forget this will change the sound of your blow off valve when you have different compression ratio from the cams and gears effecting your timing and vaccum.

No, you need a harmonic balancer to install the gears. otherwise you'll mess them up..

I put my stage 2 crower camshafts a 4retard on the intake and 2 advance on the exhaust and i got 7 hp at 6400rpm and 12 at 7000. I could feel a differance in the top end pull.
