my idle bounces up and down. its very weird. it only seems to happpen when im down shifting coming to a stop. mainly only in 2nd and 1st. every now and then it dies. my fuel is fine. could it have anything to do with a lightened flywheel, and crank scrapper decreasing rotational mass. could it be an issue with the motor sucking in enough air or some shit like that? hell, i dont know... anything?

I had that same problem and it was my idle air control motor. I have heard that if you take it off and clean it, that can fix it. It can become stuck with deposits and malfunction. It's the sensor that is underneath you throttle position sensor on you throttle body. Also when you have it off, push in the plunger to ensure that it isn't still stuck. I used brakleen to do mine and it worked fine ever since...

^^^wow! a knowledgable n00b! thats an excellent idea, the IAC is known to be problematic on our cars. of course, the rev problem is also common and many people just live with it after trying many-a-things. eclipses seem to have a mind of thier own.
