76399, I'm having some exhaust issues....
Posted by hunntyr, Jun-21-04 06:05 AM
well I had my rebuild done about 2 months ago and I think it should be nice and broken in now. I am getting a stage 2 HRC later this year however I wanted to get an exhaust system that would compliment my mods so far and go well with the turbo I will be getting.

Here's whats done so far
JE pistons 8.5:1
eagle rods
titanium valve springs
5 angle valve job
port & polished head

Now comes my confusion....with so many choices out there I am having trouble with choosing an exhaust system. I am wanting something that is more functional than for sound. To tell you the truth I like the sound that comes from my motor and stock exhaust now but I know its really restrictive. I do know that no matter what I dont want my car to sound like like a honda. Any ideas that you guys have I would greatly appreciate it.

Believe it or not, I actually have seen some DMS's in my area that had that high pitch annoying honda sound. I have no idea what exhaust they have but what ever it is I dont want it. I thought about the Greddy Evo like ^^ said and also the APex1. What do you guys think of the magnaflow???

i absolutely love how the greddy sp sounds. make sure you get the gst piping though.

i would get that, or a borla.

What would be the difference between the GST piping and the piping the Greddy SP comes with??

If you want a low-noise sounding exhaust, but the greddy world sport, or the rsr ex-mag exhaust system. They look sorta stock and the sound is not loud at all, which is what I am looking for an exhaust and have been researching, and emailing various 2gnt members who have those respective exhaust.

But, n1, and the evo are greaty exhuast as well... Can't go wrong with those.

the RS piping for the greddy SP is barely larger than stock. the gst piping is larger.

One word, Thermal

its very deep, with no rasp whatsoever. its one of the only catbacks that doesnt sound at all hondaish.

I can vouch for the Magnaflow. I've got the offset onmy car and I've driven another 2GNT with the bullet style. My offset (meaning, looks stock) seems to be a bit quieter/deeper, and I highly recommend you get a cherry bomb or glass pack inline if you should get the bullet-style piece. Eliminate the rasp and you have one of the best sounding exhausts around imo. :thumbsup

as it was mentioned above, the greddy sp is also a great exhaust. a friend of mine (tdx on this board) has it. it looks and sounds amazing.
