well, got a few cars behind my brother, passed a few cars to catch up. finally did and knew he was going to race. pulled onto a another road and we kicked it. of course he got the jump on that road. and on another because he pulled ot in front of a car and i didn't have enough time to. when i got home my car was smoking and stinking! i looked at the engine and didn't see much. looked up under the car and it looked like i was coming from either the back of the engine, very back, or somewhere on the exhaust. if soemeone can post a pic of an exhaust i could show you more clearly. can't find my dig camera. anyone know what this could be? it never overheated once, but the hell if it wasn't smoking....HEEELLLP!!!

need more info plz. Where is it smoking from? Exhaust? under hood? below car? Could be from leftover oil during last oil change...wind sloshes oil all over the underbodys of our cars.....If your temperature level is fine and you got oil in your engine checking the levels...then u should be ok...better to worry than to not care, if u ask me! any more info please give it, so myself and the other champs can help u out. thanks

Yeah more info please, what did it smell like? What color was the smoke?

thanks for the help guys. the smoke was a grayish almost whitish color, and its hard to describe the smell. it was real strong though. even i could smell it and i'm sick. it looked like it wa coming from or before the catalytic converter. or somewhere around there. and it looked kinda shiny under there so i'm guess it was wet, duh. could oil be left after that long?

Do a compresion test. sounds like you are burning oil or oil/coolant. May have blown the head gasket, or if you have breather filters just kicked some oil out and been burnign that off. Do a compression test and see if everythign is okay.

could it be the rear main seal? if its the head gasket or rear seal, tell me some things i could do while getting this fixed. i was thinking of porting/polishing the head with a 5angle valve job if i can find the money. not sure though

Sounds like a head gasket leak to me. MY head gasket started leaking oil at 50,000. Started going through 2 quarts a week. Repalced the original el cheapo gasket with the MLS gasket and had no problems since. Oh, my rear main leaks too and it never showed under the car. The only way to tell is to remove the boot on the tranny where the fork goes in. If the inside of the tranny is wet, then its rear main. My cam seal was also leaking, this could also be it.

I have a 1995 and consider myself an expert on most of the problems with our cars. I have had them all: ball joints, HG, Rear main, ISC, TPS, cam seal, hell my muffler even fell off.

Try this:

Crawl under the car until you are right under the tranny. Reach up behind the block and feel for oil. IF there is oil, it is either the head gasket or the cam seal.

Sorry for the long post guys
