76318, Removing passanger motor mount w/o jack Posted by brokenrodguy, Jun-19-04 04:21 AM
Im doing a rebuild and trying to pry the head off. I was told that you could remove the passanger upper motor mount without jacking up the motor. I started to loosen the bolt and I left them on just in cash and as soon as i pulled the 4th screw the motor dropped half an inch but no enough to touch the bolt i didnt fully unscrew. I guess my question is, is this a good idea and will I just get a heap of trouble. The reason I dont throw jack under there is because im on sand right now trying to get by with a stock jack. Should I pull the car on the road and try to jack it up with my POS jack or will I be fine. I could just imagine the motor breaking in half from the trans and me trying to catch it.

Put a board underneath the jack.
