Just replaced it and drove for a few, and it started fine but after driving i stopped the car, it lost all power, i disconnected the brand new cam sensor and it had oil on it. Would this explain not having power to the entire car or should there actually be oil on the cam sensor on the inside of it?

Mine doesnt. Did you put that little rubber gasket on the sensor? Also, you did put the magnet/pickup back on the cam, right?

He would have had to put the magnet back on, I do not believe the car would even start without the Cam sensor being operational. I am pretty sure that spark/injector timing is off the CPS.

The car WILL start without that magnet. At least mine did. It just took a double crank. I have a small amount of oil that pools in that race, but nothing major. The Sensor should seal that off to prevent any leakage to the outside of the motor.

mine has oil in there too but car works fine. Not ur power loss problem.

Ok well then my problem is definitely electrical. Im going to get new positive and ground terminals for the battery tomorrow and try those. I drove on them for a while when they weren't super tight and they were crap to begin with. I hope thats the problem. I'm still trying to figure out why the blown gasket on the wastegate started all this....:shrug

I have driven my car around with no battery in it (just off of the alternator) and it ran strong. The alternator does a pretty good job of powering the car by itself.

yeah but now i have a feeling that my alternator is bad, because my positive cable came unhooked on several accounts while driving and i ran off the alternator, so i think maybe i wore it down...
