yup...the car wont start and i dont know why. i tried all the relays on the fire wall, checked all the sensors, and even reset the ECU. and when i turn the key the check engine light doesnt come on for its initial first check. fuel pump doesnt turn on and prime. i just went into work after lunch(when i moved the car last), and 2-3 hours later came out and just turns over without a fire. this really sux:( ...i did search for it the best i could and everyone said sensors and relays and fuses. now a lil info, the ecu is less than a year or two old. thanks alot guys

its a battery related problem. check the battery terminals for tighness and corrosion. even if they are tight, try shifting them a bit. when the car cranks over, get the battery tested ASAP. we have VERY strange electrical system ghosts. this is a pretty common thing belive it or not.

HAHA that happened to me. The car would NOT start; I had to call AAA and after jump starting it, he said to tighten the negative terminal!!! Figures, I always work on the car and disconnect the battery that night.

Battery is a possability also see if your getting spark. if no spark and obviously no fuel pump check the ASD relay. ASD relay powers up all components under the hood and i think it also powers the fuel relay but not sure off the top of my head. Have you checked to see if the fuel pump is getting power. Check the positive battery terminat where the 4 white witres are and make sure none are loose or have gotten broken. In the fues box under the hood there are a couple high amperage fuses...check those as well because they supply power to all acc ect.

last time I checked the fuel pump doesn't prime until the key was turned...it somes on but doesn't pressurize. My fuel pump died 5 minutes after I shut my car off. wouldn't start again untill I installed a new one.

When you turn the key to on position it presurizes the system to about 35lbs. If it didnt the car would not start, pressure would not be high enough and you would end up with a lean condition for a few seconds. May seem minimal but it does cause damage in the long run.

ok...battery checks out good and so did the terminals. i'm not sure if i'm gettin spark, haven't checked that because i get no fuel. and cleaned the terminals and checked the wire connections on the terminals....and still no fire. man i hate this electrical stuff...oh and thre CEL still doesnst come on like its not turnin on and registering. i also checked the fuses while i was at it. (i try to be thurough before i post;))

Well the issue with the CEL is important but it could be a bulb out. Check that too...if the bulb is fine and not comming on.....either harness issue or possibly ECU failure. before ruling a bad ECU you would have to make sure the ECU is getting power at each source. The ECU gets power through a couple wires. And make sure the ECU has all proper grounds. You would also need to verify injector pulse, spark, ASD signal, fuel relay signal, and also check cam and crank signal from ECU to sensor. The only way to check and see if the cam and crank are returning signal to the ECU is with a Snap on scanner or Snap on vantage (Graphing meter). These need to be checked before calling the ECU dead. Of course if someone has a spare you can just try it.

well...i know the bulb isnt bad. but idont know what wires to test for the power on the ecu(colors and stuff that is), so so anyhelp there would be cool also. it just sucks cuz i only got this ECU like a lil over a year ago from the factory. does anyone know if there is a factory warranty on this either? well, once again....everyone is being helpful, i always love this site:-)
