i'm pretty sure i've got a leak in the rear main seal. other than putting a quart of oil in it every few weeks it's never been a problem, until this weekend. i was racing and redlined in 1st and 2nd and everything was ok. and when i turned my car off the engine was smoking, it was oil. i don't know what's wrong unless the rear main seal is completely fried now. any input? hope you guys can help... thanks

when my headgasket blew the oil that would leak would smoke because the engine components are hot that it leaked onto...

or its leaking onto your exhaust...ive had that happen before...do you have an oil pressure gauge? whats it reading

When my HG went, the oil would leak down the back of the block and drip onto the exhaust. She would smoke after a long drive. Smoke coming out from under the wheel wells etc.. It's a lot of fun. :thumbsup

no i don't have an oil gauge and it's not comin off the exhaust or under the wheel wells. i actually couldn't tell exactly where it's coming from. i just know it's under the hood somewhere.
