7497, mods list, how fast? Posted by JoeJ, Nov-18-01 03:15 PM
Hey guys, I'm pretty new here so I was just wondering what everyone has done for go fast mods. I'm trying to get an idea of how fast everyone is and what works well for our cars. I'm just starting to look into getting fast enough to hange w/ the turbo boys. I don't wanna sqeeze, that doesn't seem to get any respect after F&F came out. How fast can I expect to get by going all motor? what are the fastest all motor times? Turboing is another option, how many here have done this? Star or HRC? I'm just trying to get up to speed around here (no pun intended) so that I can give out some info instead of asking for it all the time. ;)

Ahhh so many have asked the question in the past but oh well here's my response:
Hehe I swear the main purpose for that movie was to plug for NOS. If you wanna be faster than the turbo guys it's gonna cost you a lot NA, it's a clear fact that turbocharging yields the best Horsepower to Price Ratio. I have a Star Stage erm... 2 I guess and woohoo big difference from NA, obviously. Your turbo needs special care and feeding though.. :P If you do some of the mods on the mods page of the 2GNT page though you can definately HANG with a STOCK GST or TSi. Do the basic CAI, catback exhuast, and AFX pulley and your car will be fast enough to keep up heh don't know about beat though.
You mentioned go fast mods though, and I suggest you go fast on the corners hehe with the GSTs. Upgrades your suspension with shocks, springs, and sways if ya don't got em, you'll have so much more fun with your car because you can take corners much faster.

Thanks, I'm sorry, I kinda figured it's one of those things that is asked by every newbie, but you don't know unless you ask right? Thanks for help me instead of bitching me out.

Yeah Todd is so far running the fastest NA on the board there are some of us who are planning on building some nice NA motors, me being one of them. To build NA you want to go with a high compression motor and other goodies. Porting/Polishing etc. I'm shooting for around 200hp to the wheels.

here is another option.. Turbo power, quiete a few of us are running on aftermarket turbos, be it from HRC or Star. with a stage II you will be putting roughly about 180 to the wheels (about 5psi), up the psi and tune the beast right and you will have a car that stock gst and gsx's will have to respect.

actually, stage 1's run 5psi, most stage 2s run 8-10, but with no internals i woudl still run 5 on stage 2. A stage 1 can beat a stock gst.
