74577, POS CEL LIGHTS......
Posted by Pushin420a, May-16-04 07:38 AM
Yep it's OFFICIAL....I finally got one, ERR two at once.

12,14,31,55

12= direct power input to the PCM has been disconnected within the last 50 key-on cycles

"NO WORRY"

14= MAP sensor voltage too high or low....replace map sensor....

"This is a Worry I just sold my last two...DAMN IT!!"

31= Evaporative purge solenoid / Clogged purge line / Vacuum hose / Evaporative emission canister clogged

" I think I took apart my canister being curious last time I had my bumper off. " Should ba an easy fix.

55 End of codes

So My question is how can my car run fine ALL day and have a MAP code?

Also why would the EVAP code for canister go off now after 4 months...I mean I don't drive car alot but damn it seems like along time.

Thanks guys, one thing that sucks is I had a few map sensors around here and I just sold them ALL...god damn DSM.

Oh well any help would be great.

I've had CEL 31 for over 4 years now. It doesn't affect driveablility. (as far as I've seen anyways) EVAP more than likely has to do with gas vapos being able to expand when the car sits and escape into the atmosphere. That's why the first thing you should check is your gas cap. Why is this a problem? When the car sits in the sun, the gas vapors in the tank expand and are supposed to go through the EVAp system to the charcoal cannister under the fender up front. If there is a leak somewhere, your car can theoretically become surrounded by a cloud of gas vapor which would mean disaster for anyone walking by with a smoke. Not to mention your car might just blow up. Just some food for thought...

If you're car is running fine then I wouldn't worry about it immediately but keep your eyes peeled for a few extra MAP sensors at your local salvage yard, IMO.
