Ok well we put the head back on after changing out some bent valves and in the process put on a custom turbo setup with a SFMU. The car is cranking over but not wanting to run. You can hear the fuel pump (MAN THAT WALBRO IS LOUD) but the fuel pressure will jump up to about 5-10 then fall straight back down. Also am not getting any spark. We looked over all the wire harnesses and plugs and found out that the cam position sensor was plug up to the wire that goes to the coil pack and vica versa. So the coil pack had the cam position sensor plug on it...switch that thinking it would figure out the problem but nope...

Im thinking why Im not getting any fuel pressure is because on the lil tee that hooks up to the fuel filter, I took off the FPR and welded a bolt into there and its slowy slowy leaking...I wish I could just block that off totatlly or get some kinda fitting or something. Cuz im not gettin any fuel pressure.

So any insight??

try the fuel and ignition relays..they have a tendancy to go bad without warning and will cause no spark or fuel...

Damn justin, i was going to suggest the same thing just by reading the title of the post!

We just tried switching relays with ones that were on another eclipse, didnt do anything for us.

Hooked up a multimeter to the plug that goes to the coil pack and it wasnt getting an power.

The fuel is getting to the fuel rail, but not going thru the injectors. Fuel pressure is still low and when the car is in the On position the needle on the electronic fp gauge goes down and hits the stopping needle.

Could the sfmu play any role with fuel pressure before the car is running?

We think its an electrical problem, could anything happen to the ECU?

Also did hook up a greddy turbo timer, but we unplugged it from the iginition harness so it wouldnt play any role.

bad cam sensor?

Well I just picked up a new cam angle sensor at dodge today... $44 whew. Im going to put it in after work tonight, hope this solves it. Im going to manually crank my car to tdc and see if everything is for sure in time too. Wish me luck :cheers

We still can't get fuel or spark on this thing. I'm feeling stumped.

What can cause no spark AND no injector pulse?

Ya the new Cam Sensor didnt work after $44???? Not sure what else there is...except the ecu. LIke I said the injectors are not releasing the fuel even tho its in the rail, but still my gauge doesnt show any pressure?? STill no spark...timing is dead on...dont know what to do...someone help us...

How interchangable are our ECUs can I take them from different years or with automatics or does it have to be the same exact as my car?

the ecu's are not very interchangeable at all. it makes diagnosis a real PITA. the harness won't even plug in between certain years. it wouldn't hurt to try though. it'll be pretty obvious if it doesn't fit. if at all possible try to find some w/ the same year and transmission who'll let you swap it in to check.

i just recently replaced my ECU and had the same symptoms. no spark, no fuel. not sure if the fuel pump would power on w/ the dead ECU though. i know it'd still crank. what year/tranny you lookin for? there's usually a couple floating around on the boards. i got one in a couple days at an awesome price from member STV. great guy to deal with. once i swapped in the ecu everything started up perfectly fine. the downtime while hunting down an ECU sucked though :P

Yea I really think it might be my ECU, because I am not getting any cels or such. If someone could help me locate a ECU from a 99 MT I'd appreciate it.

You fried your ECU.

1 thing though, I dont know how you switched those plugs because they aren't physically the same size. The only two plugs which are the same size are the coil pack and speed sensor.

Either way, you fried it. Don't feel bad, I did the same thing with the coil pack and speed sensor.

LoL man I will take a picture the speed sensor, coil pack, and cam sensor all have the same type plug with a red locking clip on top...even the crank sensor does too. Think I should buy a coil pack too?

I am having the EXACT problem as you. But when i have the key in the on position you here my fuel pumps and my fuel gauge reads 20, but goes down to 0 when trying to crank, but no spark at all. Have no idea what it is. I bought new cam position sensor, new crank sensor, have new coil, new battery, and still nothing. A friend just got a used ecu so i pray that it is that, ever since i rebuilt it i have not been able to drive, it has 4 miles on the new motor, thats it. Mine is a 99 with manual transmission.

Diamn well your doing better than me. I hear the fuel pump but like i said gauge only hovers to almost 5 then drops and hits needle. I cant wait to hear that RFL BOV I bought from you freddy. Let me know if you get your problem fixed.

I hope i can get this fixed, tomorrow i will find out. I forgot that i sold it to you, hope you can get the problem fixed also, the bov was nice and believe me, people will hear it. It is weird how we are both having problems with our cars after rebuilding. This sucks, i know when it is all said and done we will both enjoy our cars and i will finally be able to hear my greddy bov while driving instead of just sitting at idle and revving it up. Good luck, i will keep you posted on if my problem gets fixed.

It was also my ecu, there was a wire crimped up behind my block and it somehow fried my ecu and some burned some of the wires. Dont know how that happened, but all in know is my friend who put the block back must of did it, but oh well runs great now. I got a used ecu and everything was wired back right and everything works now. Main problem was ecu fried due to crimped wire. Glad to see your car is running right.
