Does anyone know where to get a belt dressing to keep the timing and acc/alt belts in prolonged good condition?

thebelt dressing you are referring to is a spray that has a grit in it. you spray it on the pulley and it dries with a texture like sandpaper. the concept is to make it harder for the belt to slip and squeel.
not something i would use on a timing belt.

I bought some belt dressing at drug mart. It was just a liquid spray, it didnt have a texture.

I still would put anything on a timing belt.....

Actually belt dressings deteriorate rather than prolong belts. The can even says not to use it on serpentine and timing belts. Its only for oldskool v-belts.
It works by getting really damn sticky and some of them eat into the rubber to make it softer, but this weakens the belt. The grit youre seeing in the belts after you dress them is road dirt.

No there is actualy a elt dressing that contains grit. years ago when i was young we sprayed the brake surfaces of ourr mags on the bycycles and man could we do endo's.
