73797, What should I do with the O2 sensor when my ECU gives emission error codes?

Hey guys,

My ECU has been giving me error code 64 (catalytic converter efficiency failure) all the time. I've checked and changed the catalytic converter but it still does it. I think it could be the rear 02 sensor. What should I do? Is there any possible way to disable the 02 sensor? Thanks.

Stop caring about it. That sensor is there to monitor the cat and has no bearing on how the car runs.

But doesn't that trigger the ever so irritating CEL? Well anyways, if it doesn't matter, I think I might just take the cats off.

Replace the sensor.
