Just wanted to know your top speed. My stock 97 RS hits the fuel cut off at 4K in O/D and stops at 110mph.

I got to 132mph with everything stock but my exhaust. It hit 132 at about 5500 rpms in 5th gear (5 speed) and it basically was not going any faster. If I had a little more room and was able to keep it floored it may have slowly gone a little faster but that was about it.

Hey, I don't think you are hitting fuel kit in fourth gear (overdrive on) at 110. That's just the lack of power in fourht gear which makes it seem to stop. I used to think my auto stopped at 105 with overdrive on. But if you leave Overdrive OFF, it will hit about 120 mph before shifting into fourth. Try leaving O/D off and let it redline, and see how fast you can go...

Before I got my Turbo, it was like 2am and I was coming back from Fresno and I hit 125-126 at about 5,000 and it was still pulling hard. ( 5-speed ) Then I slowed down to the speed limit cause I didn't want to hit the electronic limiter at what I read to be 130. Well about 30 min later I see headlights...and ya... I got pulled over for doing 93mph!! damn.

Actually, there is no electric speed limiter at 130mph. The 2gnts are not governed. I routinely run over 130mph, and have visited a hair over 150mph twice (a hair over 7k rpms in 5th gear).

so far, i've gotten about 135 or 136 and that was around turns. still pulling pretty good to. didn't have too much room and didn't know the roads so didn't push it over that.
and i'm all stock for now!

I've hit 123 mph in my Automatic RS. I'm not sure If I could have gone further, but I layed off because I began fearing: Tire problems, suspension problems, or a ticket -- didn't want anything to go wrong.

For some reason I can get my car to hit 7000 rpms, is this correct?

Yikes, well I hit 115 or 125. Can't really tell because my speedo is off by some. I have a lot more RPMs to go like 2k so perhaps if I redlined 4th I could get past 130. I get scared though and back off, this was on a public street. Heh wish I could try it on one of those roads that are in the middle of nowhere. hehe :P Oh yeah I have H rated tires also, so that sux. I also thought we did have an electronic limiter on our cars? Maybe certain years or models?

Only Models that have the speed limiter are the GST's and thats at 135 i believe.

I hit 132 on my way from Dayton to Middletown once while trying to keep up with my friend in his Viper (I did say trying). Then some time later after exhaust and Z rated tires I got her up to about 137. Haven't gone faster since.

sorry man we donnot cut off at 110 mph ... ive gooten her up to 125 and still had some juice left .... the cut off for the at is in the 130 range.. fyi

when i was stock it was hard to go over 110(auto)...i didnt try it moded until just reciently. holy shit i was going 120 and it had more. i just dont have balls that big and cant afford to have my license taken.

Na, no turbo. All motor as of now. Turbo before June though...*drool*. I'll give everyone my specs when I'm finished, you'll drool like me. *drool* ;o) I hit right over 150 on my way to Houston twice. No downgrade here in the flat lands of Southeast Texas. It was a bit loud, the car shook a bit. I didnt stay there long, my rear tires arent rated for that kind of speed.

Hey Fellas I hit 143 exactly and then I let off becasue I remembered that I didnt know what types of tires I had. But then I got out and checked and they were h rated. Thank you god for being with me.

I had her up to 130 bone stock with 3 people in the car running it at about 4500 in 5th, but again thats with 3 people.

Mine is 141mph with a HRC Stage II w/FMIC - my run ended suddenly after a Raccoon decided to get shaved by my intercooler!

I know of other getting to 148mph (Greg)...

Basically we are gear limited, i.e. our max speed is decided by whatever speed you are at in 5th gear at 7499 rpm!! At 7500 or so, we get fuel cut!

I ran 120mph at 6Krpm in third. I could of went further, but I have about 50K on the stock tires and I just didn't have the grapefruits to go further. So, I guess I *could* hit 125 at redline in third, and o/d is another story.

For a turbo car this is a very good idea. Len actually is running the lower gear ratio on his setup. BTW, I hit around 150 before I had to exit, assuming accuracy of my speedo. Do not forget your speedo is most likely off at these speeds by some degree.

i got mine to 110 and only hitting on three plugs now that it's tuned i want to try for more. 5 speed all the way, no limiter as for as i know. ? am i wrong CU

I have had it at 140 Before. I think the auto would explode if I tried any higher. It still had a few RPM's left till redline, but I was afraid I would blow it up. It takes a while to get up there without turbo. That's why I am gonna boost my shit up in '02.
