7366, Oil Pressure?
Posted by daved, Nov-16-01 01:33 PM
Finally got my oil pressure gauge fixed. Let me tell you if you want shit done right you gotta do it yourself, shit was so fucked up in there is was horrible and sad I paid to get shit installed. Should of done it myself the first fuckin time!

Anyway I want to know if these numbers are right?

Idle 25-30 psi

Normal driving 50-60 psi

WOT 70-75 psi

I know the other numbers sound right but is my idle a little low, somebody let me know the numbers they get.

sounds good to me, my WOT is alot higher due to boostin', but your numbers are right around a buddy of mine's 2gnt.

Sounds about right for both of you. The 2GNT main page has a section that covers oil pressure readings.

You need to use a wrench to take off the factory oil pressure sender and install the aftermarket one. Its located on the back of the engine block, easiest access is to get under the car, look up at the back of the engine, and it is on the left(driverside).

There use to be a page but it's not workin now. Go to PepBoys and buy a T fitting and rig it so you can have your stock sender unit and your aftermarket one. The reaon for this is so you won't get a low oil pressure light on.

I took mine off months ago and I have yet to get a oil pressure light.... Dont know if I'm the exception or what, but I dont get any lights or codes because of it. I would rather take the light bulb out of the instrument panel than rig up something to make the factory sender work and fit decent.
